Lee Davis is a North Carolina native, born and raised in Asheboro. Lee took up trumpet an piano at an early age, and majored in Music Pedagogy at UNC-Chapel Hill. He attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston, where he studied with ------, ------, and playing with another North Carolinian, Scott Adair (sax).

Lee earned his BA from UNC-Chapel Hill, then earned a Masters in Music at the University of Miami. Returning to Greensboro, he realized after a sobering semester of teaching High School band for a semester that the public school career was not for him, nor could it support his new family. He attended North Carolina A&T on an accelerated program and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Lee is employed as a Senior Engineer at IBM in Research Triangle Park.
